76975 - Manufacturing Simulation of Impuse Turbine Machine
Product lifecycle management (PLM) systems help societies in coping with the increasing complexity and engineering challenges of developing new products for the global competitive markets. Design analysis is a powerful software technology for simulating physical behavior on the computer. Instead of building a prototype and developing elaborate testing regimens to analyze the physical, engineers can elicit this information quickly and accurately on the behavior of a product in a computer. Because design analysis can minimize or even eliminate the need for physical prototyping and testing, the technology has gone mainstream in the manufacturing world over the past decade as a valuable product development tool and has become omnipresent in almost all fields of engineering. The devices that convert the energy in a stream of fluid into mechanical energy is a turbine. The conversion is generally accomplished by passing the fluid through a system of stationary passages or vanes that alternate with passages consisting of finlike blades attached to a rotor. In an impulse turbine the potential energy, or the head of water, is first converted into kinetic energy by discharging water through a carefully shaped nozzle. The jet, discharged into air, is directed onto curved buckets fixed on the periphery of the runner to extract the water energy and convert it to useful work. Manufacturing simulation is the virtual testing of a production facility to get vital information about the various processes. For a company to be successful, it has to analyse its manufacturing systems as there is cost, time and efforts associated with it. And manufacturing simulation is a cost effective strategy which is possible due to many simulation software available in the market. In this simulation you can build small, large manufacturing process size is not a matter, you can add and drop elements, look for the loose ends, know the staffing needs, logistic support and resource allocation. Actual understanding is what we get from the systems simulations using such software, Manufacturing is the process that converts things into economic satisfactions, it becomes clear that producing does not stop when the product leaves the factory. Physical distribution and product service are still part of the production process and should be integrated with it, coordinated with it, managed together with it. The development that does not put the ecosystem and its services to danger is referred to as sustainable development. Design is worthless without development. Minus design, there is no usability in development. This paper reports on the design, modeling, simulation, stress and sustainability analysis of machine by using different Softwares. After thoroughly researching, designing and experimenting with soft ware’s final machine was developed optimizing the process, the product time was successfully reduced from several hours to 5 minute. All other engineering and customer design requirement were met, through the success of the design
