  • Non Ice-Vehicles and Their Life Cycle: Value Analysis for Resource Investment and Integration of Circular Functionality for Battery 2nd Life Applications in Mobile Charging Infrastructure Setup for Remote Locations

Session: Research Posters

Paper Number: 112364

112364 - Non Ice-Vehicles and Their Life Cycle: Value Analysis for Resource Investment and Integration of Circular Functionality for Battery 2nd Life Applications in Mobile Charging Infrastructure Setup for Remote Locations

The key goal is analyzing multimodal non-ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicle post-sales services and maintenance to EOL (End of Life) solutions enhancing circularity and sustainable transition towards future mobility trends. Mapping these elements will help design a detailed process layout, identify the bottlenecks and challenges and propose a scenario strategy for post-sales services in future mobility with data insights for planned transition and overall domain development. Propose key interventions on post-sales services and maintenance, Initial cost of adoption, infrastructure up-gradation, product life cycles, sustainable product design, repurpose-reuse-remanufcature-upcycle of vehicle components etc. and its wider perception / acceptance for a need to transition to efficient resource utilization. Micro-mobility, 2- and 3-wheel sectors, which form a large SME (Small Medium sized Enterprises and start-ups) base will benefit by this evaluation study and assist elevate them to industry standards, bringing them in the mainstream fold.

Integrating 2nd life batteries for setting up "mobile charging kiosks" and alternate applications depending on data analstics and battery tech advancements for safe - reuse, repurpose, remanufcature, upcycle and deploy advanced sustainability from design to EOL for key components. Using advanced engineering processes for researching potential electro-mechanical, electro-chemical and industrial engineering features to find unique solution for 2nd life battery deployment.

The key objective is to identify post-sales cost and maintenance burden needed for decarbonizing logistic and Public Transport, focusing on 2- and 3-wheel no-ICE vehicles. The outcome of the research will help to identify better solutions, lower cost and improved ways of decarbonizing the transport sector, keeping in mind the final-users perspective (and their total cost of ownership for the vehicles). My research will propose enhanced models for post-sale scenarios, suggesting - to both policy makers and industry - implementation towards a planned / standardized, transition stage toward sustainability.

This research aims to outline the challenge and potentiality of post-sales for 2- and 3-wheel no-ICE vehicles, so as to reduce the burden for the final users and streamline the transition toward decarbonized transport. The key variables pertaining to operations, design, planning, engineering, tooling, quality and supplier management, benchmarking and inculcating standardization etc. help elevate value of this research.

A framework advisory report identifying future strategy models undertaken by evaluating current data and establishing certain key predictive parameters will help individuals, independents and incorporations make robust decisions in the present. Numerical parametric study conducted in a new and dynamic mobility segment will assist wider organizations like, government, policy, insurance, legal etc. to better understand the wider impact of decarbonized mobility. Using data analytics to determine potential optimization in post-sales services and maintanenence to improve sustainable models in mobility.
